We had bought Firenze Cards through the internet and so could enter Accademia Gallery without standing in long queues.

The star attraction was Michelangelo’s David. The marble sculpture is one of the greatest masterpieces of the Renaissance period. It is a giant sculpture, almost four and a half metres high. It is incredible to see the beautiful details sculpted on marble. There was a big crowd of people around it when we reached. I had to wait patiently to get some good photos.

As one enters the Accademia Gallery, one will find Rape of the Sabines by Giambologna. It is a plaster cast model and is displayed in the Hall of Colossus. The marble version is placed in Piazza della Signoria.

Another sculpture which caught the eye was Daphne and Chloe by Ulisse Cambi. It is in marble and shows two young lovers. The sculpture is displayed in Galleria dell’ Accademia.
As the use of flash is prohibited in the museum, aperture in my Canon EOS 550D camera was set to f/1.8. The exposure program was Aperture Priority. White balance was in Auto.
Simply superb!!!
