Konkan train travel is scenic. It has several tunnels along the way. Arabian Sea is on the west while Sahyadri mountains are on the eastern side. Picturesque villages, rice fields, streams andlakes can be seen on both sides of the track. During winter months, mists cover the area in the mornings. Trains must move slowly. I shot the photo below when my train had halted at Roha Station.

Accademia Gallery is an art museum in Florence, Italy. The star attraction in the museum is the original Michelangelo’s sculpture, David.  There are other famous sculptures and Renaissance paintings by Florentine masters of 14th and 15th centuries. Pietro Leopoldo, Grand Duke of Tuscany, founded the museum in 1784. From Florence’s Santa Maria Novella station, usually abbreviated to Firenze SMN, it is a short walk of 1.1 km. Saint Francis Church Kochi,  a landmark of Fort Kochi, is one of the oldest European churches in India. It dates back to the sixteenth century. The body of Vasco da Gama, the Portuguese navigator, had been buried in the church in 1524.  Da Gama was a Portuguese explorer and navigator, and the first person to sail directly from Europe to India. His son, Padre da Silva de Gama, took the mortal remains to Lisbon in 1538. The gravestone of Vasco da Gama can still be seen in the church. …
